I may have missed a product or two in this recap of empties. It wasn’t until partway through the month that I decided to keep my empties and round them up every month.

Ole Henriksen Truth Creme Advanced Hydration, Shiseido Benefiance Extra Creamy Cleansing Foam, Ojon Rub-Out Dry Cleanser

Ole Henriksen Truth Creme Advanced Hydration – Possible Repurchase
I got this in a set with Truth Serum on Boxing Day of last year. It was a great deal and I had been wanting to try out Ole Henriksen products for a while after hearing so many good things. I’m still undecided about repurchasing because I have some left still and this creme wasn’t as thick as I like. I have especially dry skin in the winter and this sometimes left me with a stray dry patch or two. Perhaps I’ll wait until warmer weather to give my remaining stock of it a go.

Shiseido Benefiance Extra Creamy Cleansing Foam – No Repurchase
Though I’m a huge fan of all of the other Shiseido Benefiance products, I don’t really like this. Sure it’s creamy and it foams beautifully, but it leaves my skin feeling really tight, dry and uncomfortable.

Ojon Rub-Out Dry Cleanser – No Repurchase
This does a good job as a dry shampoo, it really does. My problem with it is that I’ve had 2 or 3 bottles of it over the years, and I never get to fully finish it up because partway through each bottle, the nozzle will stop working. Running it under warm water doesn’t help to unclog it either. It also doesn’t smell the greatest.

Glamour For All, Oyster Girl, Jewelbright, Ciao Manhattan

MAC Lipglasses in Glamour For All, Oyster Girl, Jewelbright, Ciao Manhattan – No Repurchase
Not going to break these down individually, 3 of the 4 were Limited Edition and I wouldn’t be able to repurchase even if I wanted to. As I mentioned in my Shop My Stash – Lipgloss post, I don’t like the formula of MAC Lipglass. Too thick and sticky. Over the next little while, I’m going to get rid of most of them.

January Empties 2014

Stila Forever Your Curl, MAC Prep + Prime Lash, Estee Lauder Sumptuous, Estee Lauder Lash Primer Plus, Tarte Gifted Amazonian Clay, Make Up For Ever Smoky Lash

Stila Forever Your Curl – No Repurchase
I really wish this mascara worked for me because I love the little brush it comes with. I just found that every time I wore it, mascara smudges would end up under my eyes. Not a look I am going for.

MAC Prep + Prime Lash Primer – Repurchase
This works really well for me, there’s a definitely difference when I apply this before mascara. It helps thicken up my lashes and give a bit of extra length as well.

Estee Lauder Sumptuous BoldVolume Lifting Mascara – Maybe Repurchase
This did a good job of adding extra volume to my lashes and I did enjoy using it. I think there may be other mascaras I’d buy over this one, but if another one wound up in my possession (I got this as a GWP), I’d be happy.

Estee Lauder Lash Primer Plus – Repurchase
This was another lash primer I enjoyed. Though I think I’d like to try other brands of lash primers for more of a comparison before committing to buying again. No harm in seeing what else is on the market. If you’ve got a favorite lash primer, let me know!

Tarte Gifted Amazonian Clay Smart Mascara – No Repurchase
As a mascara, this worked well and made my lashes look nice and all that, but I had issues with it flaking off. Not something I want to deal with.

Make Up For Ever Smoky Lash Repurchase
This mascara is amazing, it really adds lots of volume effortlessly and is a nice, dark black. My one slight beef with it is that it dries up really quickly. Not a problem if it’s something you use everyday and don’t have multiple mascaras on the go like I tend to.

Maybe it sounds weird, but it’s pretty satisfying to have evidence that I’m actually using things up and getting rid of things I don’t use. I’m coming to realize that I have way too much stuff. I can’t say that I won’t buy new things, I’ll just try not to buy as many. I am definitely going to make an effort to use up more of the things that I currently have this year.

Gosh I know, I was thinking it’s funny how much mascara and lipgloss it was when I rounded everything up at the end of the month. I think in part because I’m in the process of cleaning out my stash and I had a lot of things on the go that were close to done or dried out or whatever. It sure felt good to toss everything after I wrote that post! Well, I B2M the MAC lipglosses and got more lipstick haha.

Yeah I went on a bit of a spree cleaning out my mascara drawer. Still lots going on in there, but it’s still progress! I find mascara primer really helps plump up my lashes before putting on mascara. I’m happy with the length of my lashes, but am always looking for more volume!
