Julep Mariska is a vibrant orange nail polish with very subtle gold shimmer throughout. I’ve used two coats here, but it’s a thicker formula and you could probably get away with just one. Since this is a matte finish, it does dry fairly quickly so you have to work fast to ensure even and streak free coverage.

If you opt to wear this without adding a top coat, the shimmer isn’t really noticeable. With the added shine of top coat, the gold shimmer becomes a bit more apparent. I tend to prefer my polishes to have a glossy finish rather than matte, so I prefer to wear this with top coat.

Mariska came with The Vivid Collection Maven Box from April 2014. It was part of the Classic with a Twist selection.

I find I have kind of a love / hate relationship with orange nail polish. Sometimes I can’t get enough of them and other times they sit in my nail polish drawer, neglected. Mariska is a gorgeous colour and has been added to my list of top favourite oranges.
