Julep Colette Swatch & Review

In continuing with Julep July, today I am featuring Julep Colette swatch for you.

Julep Colette is described as a poetic violet shimmer.

I have quite the thing for purple in general so when I saw this in my June box, I was thrilled. I don’t even have anything quite like it. It’s dark, frosted purple with silver shimmer throughout. I didn’t really know whether I’d like it because of the frosty factor, but I must say, I was pleasantly surprised when I applied this to my nails.

The formula was good, I used two coats here for full opacity. You do have to pay a bit of attention when applying Colette because these kinds of frosted finishes can have a tendency to show brush strokes, but nothing that isn’t manageable in this case.

Colette came with The Three Wishes Collection June 2014 Bombshell box.

  1. Wow, look at the color! I love purple but I’m not sure if I can pull it off when it’s this bright and with a frost finish! Looks great on you, though! I don’t have any Julep nail polishes but keep on hearing great things about them!

    • I was so surprised I liked it as much as I did because I don’t tend to gravitate towards frosts, but this was a nice surprise!
