February went by in a flash! Probably because it’s a short month to begin with, and I was in the Dominican for a week. I don’t have a huge amount of empties this month, but I am starting to clear out some of my makeup stash to make more room and keep things better organized.

February Empties 2014

Pas-De-Deux, Early Bloomer, Prize Petal, Flusterose, Adventurous, Happening Gal

MAC Lipglasses in Pas-De-Deux, Early Bloomer, Prize Petal, Flusterose (lustreglass), Adventurous, Happening Gal – No Repurchase
Just like in my January Empties, I’m getting rid of more of my MAC lipglass and lustreglasses this month. I just don’t use them, and I’ve had them for a while so it’s time. There are still some in my collection that I really like and am not going to part with yet, but I’m going make more of an effort to use them and then reassess whether I keep them or not. At least I am getting rid of 6 this month, that means I can Back2MAC them and get a free lipstick or eye shadow.

Neutrogena Oil-Free Eye Make-up Remover, Vichy Idealia Life Serum, Ole Henriksen Truth Serum Collagen Booster

Neutrogena Oil-Free Eye Make-up Remover – Repurchase
This is the first eye makeup remover that I ever bought that I really loved. I used it religiously for years until I discovered Clinique’s Take the Day Off Makeup Remover, which is my new favourite. Even so, the Neutrogena is more budget friendly and I may end up with another bottle once I get through my stash of eye makeup removers. I have a full bottle of the Clinique and a few GWP sizes of various brands to get through first.

Vichy Idealia Life Serum – Maybe Repurchase
I got this in a huge bag of luxury sized samples from Shoppers Drug Mart last year. This sample lasted me about a week, so it wasn’t really enough time to judge if it was doing anything for me. I did like the feel of it but I already have a couple other full size serums that I will use up before I would consider buying a full size of this.

Ole Henriksen Truth Serum Collagen Booster – Repurchase
I really enjoyed using this serum. I wasn’t sure that it was doing anything at first, but this bottle did last me a few weeks of using it once in the morning and once at night and I can definitely say that my skin looked better. I ran of out of this early February and have noticed my skin isn’t looking quite as radiant. As I mentioned in my January Empties, this serum came in a set with a mini moisturizer. I got a few of these sets, so I still have a couple of these left before I’ll have to repurchase. I’ve started on another serum for now and will see how that works for me.

The Body Shop Born Lippy Watermelon Lip Balm, NailTek II Intensive Therapy

The Body Shop Born Lippy Watermelon Lip Balm – Repurchase
I got a set of 5 Born Lippy Lip Balms at the beginning of last year, and some scents are better than others. A couple of them I got sick of before finishing the jar, but this one was great. It’s quite moisturizing, which is always important to me. I’m a bit fussy when it comes to lip balms. I’ve tried tons but there are only a few that I actually like. Watermelon, Raspberry and Strawberry are scents I really loved from this line.

NailTek II Intensive Therapy – Repurchase
This is aimed to help soft, peeling nails. I did find that using this as my base coat before polish helped strengthen my nails and reduced peeling. Unfortunately, it did kind of thicken up and become unusable before I completely finished the bottle, but that’s happened with a couple of my fast dry top coats as well, probably just because they’re exposed to air so often. That’s not a deal breaker for me and I’m currently on my 3rd bottle. If you’re interested in trying this, keep an eye out at Winners, I’ve spotted it there quite a few times.

I’m hoping that I have a bigger pile of empties and things I’m tossing for the end of this month.

Have you tried any of these products? Did you use up a lot of things this month?

I have been eyeballing the Ole Henricksen line for a while now and was pleasantly surprised by the small foilie (with product texture, scent, blah blah blah), and I’d love to try more. I’m glad you enjoyed it…that’s certainly a push in the *makethepurchase* direction. 😉

The Ole Henricksen serum sounds really good, as does the Neutrogena makeup remover. I find a lot of makeup removers can be really greasy feeling, so an oil-free one is next on my list. Do you know if you’ll be getting a lipstick or eyeshadow from MAC? And if so, which one!

I have a few lip products from MAC that have been sitting untouched for a few years. It’s mostly because I forget that I have them, but I should really go through them to see if I would actually wear them again.

I love the Idealiea serum in the morning on days I want an extra “glow.” It’s supposed to help retain moisture as well but I outright ignore that part and use it cosmetically.

Good luck downsizing your lip gloss stash! I keep mine really small now after a few Revlon Colorbursts went bad in half a year although I only wore them a few times. Not worth hoarding. (…buy more powder blush instead.)
